Our Green Commitment

Now, more than ever, it’s important to be environmentally responsible. Scientific evidence shows what we do today will have an impact on the world for the next 50 – 100 years. The Larkin Group is committed to leaving a positive, environmentally-friendly footprint.

The Larkin group began working with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to join the fight in preserving the environment. The USGBC is a non-profit community of leaders working to make green buildings available to everyone. USGBC developed a “green” standard for designing buildings, known as the Leadership in Energy and Engineering Design (LEED) Certification.

The LEED Certification provides independent, third party verification that ensures a building project is environmentally responsible, profitable and a healthy place to live and work. LEED buildings meet the highest green building and performance standards which is why the Larkin Group is proud to follow them.

There are both environmental and financial benefits to earning LEED certification.

LEED-certified buildings are designed to:

  • Lower operating costs and increase asset value

  • Reduce waste sent to landfills

  • Conserve energy and water

  • Be healthier and safer for occupants

  • Reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions

  • Qualify for tax rebates, zoning allowances and other incentives in hundreds of cities

  • Demonstrate an owner's commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility
